Mastering the Art of Mondaying: Because coffee can only do so much!

Hi, my people, Monday has swooped in like a stealthy ninja, ready to pounce on your weekend vibes. The alarm is ringing, the laptop is waiting, and the to-do list is never-ending.

Well Mondays are like the gatekeepers of the workweek, and they can be as difficult as trying to fold a fitted sheet (btw has anyone managed to do that in one go?) it drives me crazyyy every single time.

So, let’s just talk about dealing with these Mondays, breaking up with your bed and getting started for the mighty week ahead.

We all have dreams; we all have a secret wish list(vacation home somewhere exotic) The best part about this wish list which I learnt recently is you can achieve it. It is doable darling! You just need to reignite the fire within and develop an enthusiasm equal to a Labrador chasing a tennis ball. We have had these phases over the years like hard work pays then came the time that smart work is the way to go and recently the word “hustle” has been added to our daily lives. I absolutely hate to admit it, it is all true. There is no easy way, there is no secret treasure.

So, coming back to our Monday morning, keeping the above thought in mind, we have to move, we have to take efforts to make things happen. For the opportunity to reach us, we need to be visible. The endless possibilities waiting for you to achieve are sure to get you out of bed. We all go to our phones first thing in the morning, yeah yeah it is bad and all. But now it is what it is, let’s turn that into a helpful tool.

  1. Set your wallpaper as per your goal. Any image that reminds you what you are working for.
  2. If you have an exercise/ yoga routine great! If you don’t, create a playlist of your favourite jams to set the mood. Start swaying. Sing in the shower, dance like nobody’s watching, and channel your inner Michael Jackson.
  3. Make a to-do list of tasks you want to accomplish today. Checking off items feels like levelling up in a video game – it is oddly satisfying!
  4. Put on an outfit that makes you feel like a million bucks, even if it is WFH and it’s only your dog who will see it. We need the vibe; we need the confidence.
  5. As the morning caffeine starts wearing off, seek out a good laugh. Watch a funny video, or read a hilarious blog( like this one..hehee), Laughter is the best way to beat Monday blues.
  6. During lunch before you start that series, or go off with your co-worker, spend a few minutes pondering your goals and what you will conquer this week.
  7. You know this one “ hydrate”. Drinking water is the easiest, most effective and cheapest way to recharge yourself quickly,  (unless you prefer some Himalayan magic water which makes money disappear)
  8. I really like this one and started practicing it a while back. Write down the highlight of your day, it could be anything, literally anything. Once I wrote I got a new purple toothbrush, yup that was my highlight. But now my toothbrush makes me happy every single morning. Because I made it a point to mention it to myself. I am reminded every time I brush my teeth of the joy I felt the day I got the brush.

Now that you have got the Monday motivation mojo, I can’t wait to see the magic you will create this week. Remember all the self-motivation mantras you can, and brighten up this Monday and every day that follows.
